Artist Statement
"I live and work in the city of Havana. It is also where I completed my education in the arts at the Academia de San Alejandro and years later at the Instituto de Museología.
Despite the fact that my studies were based in painting, drawing and sculpture, I very quickly began working in different media like photographic installations and the use of found objects which became a constant in my work.
The fragmentation of documents, photographs, and dissimilar objects results in a representation of a fragmented memory in our minds, a memory composed of many small parts.
My first solo exhibition was entitled "Acumulaciones" (Accumulations) . Since that time I have a marked tendency to create three dimensional works.”
